The Course Inspector and Chairman of the Stewards walked at lunchtime. The course is level with a good covering of grass. The going is currently Good with Good to Firm places. Watering continues to maintain this. (Thursday 17th April) 17/04/25

Following an inch of rain on Tuesday night the ground tonight is Good, Good to Soft in places. There is rain forecast again on Friday. Watering will be reviewed when the forecast for Friday & Saturday is clearer. We will ensure the ground will be on easy side of GOOD. (Updated 16/04/25) 16/04/25

Clerk of the Course Graham Tawell confirmed earlier that - after 7mm of rain overnight - the going is now Good to Firm, Good in places. The course is being watered by three bowsers with the objective of producing Good going on Saturday. (Updated 12.30pm, Wed 16 Apr). 16/04/25

As of Thursday 17th the ground is currently good. We continued to water again today and will water again tomorrow Friday. Possible rain now forecast for late afternoon into evening Friday and rain through to early hours of Saturday morning on the Met office . ***** FIXTURE CANCELLED ***** After inspecting today (Thursday 10th April), the Committee has made the decision to call off the meeting on Easter Saturday.<br /> The going is currently Hard. Without the ability to water and with limited rain forecast this is unlikely to improve. This early decision will give participants time to make alternative plans for the Easter weekend. 13/04/25

Wednesday evening update at Chaddesley, watering is going well. Going at present is Good to firm with two more days of watering to go,the ground will improve towards good, another update tomorrow .There will be video's posted throughout the week on Chaddesley Races and West Mercian Facebook page. 16/04/25

Following twelve hours of torrential rain at Trebudannon on Tuesday, the course inspector gives the going as Good in the home straight and Good to Soft in the back straight. There is further rain on Friday and we will update if there is significant change. (updated 16/04/25) 16/04/25

Updated 16.04.2025 - With the forecast changing away from rain, watering is underway with the continued aim to produce safe racing ground for Easter Monday. Updates will also be posted on the Paxford Races and West Mercian area Facebook pages until race day. 17/04/25

The going remains Firm, Good to Firm in places, with a good covering of grass. Watering will continue, to improve the going, and we are aiming for Good to Firm on the day. The team are working incredibly hard to produce safe racing ground and we will agrivate if necessary. As of 16 Apr 25: The Clerk of the Course states that the going is currently good to firm. Watering has been going on and the rain the course received has helped. The watering will continue whilst monitoring the weather forecast but the aim is to give as near good all the way around the course by race day. Any further changes will be given as necessary. 16/04/25

Thursday 17th April We have a nice covering of grass on old turf. The track has been spiked and watering well commence the early part of next week, with an umbilical cord and dribbler for even distribution. 17/04/25

In light of the constantly changing weather forecast the course will be slit on Friday 18th April and watering will commence thereafter. QUORN – SATURDAY 26th APRIL A new 6th Race has been added to the Quorn meeting with Entries closing on Monday at Noon: 2mile 4 furlong - Veterans Conditions Race for horses age 8 years + (level 3 conditions) With the track aerated and decompacted today, irrigation commences tomorrow (Saturday) but it will only be possible to appropriately irrigate the main track and not the inner line required for the NHF Race (original Race 6) and 2 x Pony Races. Thus, the NHF and 2 x Pony Races have been abandoned. All fences and bends along with the associated racing line will be on the inside line which has not been raced on for a year. There is exceptional grass cover that has already been mown to encourage more growth and cover. The Quorn Committee and Tean Garthorpe are working hard to deliver Safe racing ground Thursday 17th April 17/04/25
