18 May 2011 Advance Reports: May 28th - 29th
Advance information has started to come through from meetings taking place between May 28th and 29th.
- The Border at Hexham Racecourse: the Point-to-Point course has been repaired after the Haydon meeting on the 15th; it is flat and in very good condition. Racing will be run over fresh ground on the straight and on the bends, and watering will commence early next week as and when necessary.
- The Berks & Bucks Draghounds at Kingston Blount: since the Kimblewick meeting on the 7th of May, the course has been reinstated and is level. Watering will commence this week with the intention of achieving good/good to firm ground by raceday.
- The clerk of the course for the rearranged South & West Wilts at Larkhill reports that: as of Wednesday 18th May, the going is firm. At the time of writing, the course is safe, well-grassed and entirely fit for racing. With some heavy rain falling last weekend and showers forecast for the next ten days, racecourse officials are doing everything possible to provide safe, level ground. That said, it will almost certainly be fast ground. An aggravator has been provisionally booked for the 48 hours preceding the meeting and will be used if necessary. Watering such a large course is impossible and will not be attempted.
- Albrighton Woodland at Chaddesley Corbett: Sections of the fences have been moved and all bends have been realigned on to fresh ground. The course is in surprisingly good condition and has held the moisture since the Wheatland meeting earlier in the month. At the present time the course has some give in the turf, but watering will commence early next week to try and ensure as good ground as possible. Entries close at 11am on Monday.
- The Harborough Race Club at Dingley has been abandoned, click here for further information.
