07 April 2011 Bedale at Hornby Castle - Important Traffic Information

Owners, Trainers and racegoers are advised of some important travel information regarding this weekend's Bedale meeting at Hornby Castle.
The full bulletin from the Highways Agency is as follows:
Full closures of the A1 north and southbound between Leeming and Dishforth are planned for Saturday 9th and 16th April and 7th May 2011, each closure starting at 18.00hrs and completed by 13.00hrs on Sunday (duration of 19 hours) to enable demolition of Londonderry overbridge (Greengate Lane) and Cowfold bridge.
During the A1 closures, clearly-signed diversion routes will be in place:
- Long-distance southbound traffic will leave the A1(M) at Junction 60, near Darlington, and use the A19 / A168 to rejoin the A1(M) at Dishforth.
- Long-distance northbound traffic will leave the A1(M) at Junction 49 (Dishforth) and follow the A168, A19 and A689 before rejoining the A1(M) at Junction 60 (Darlington)
- Some local diversions will be in place for those requiring access to properties
and RAF Leeming.
