Adams Wine: (nearside) a leading contender in the Men's Open
The Cheshire Forest Hunt stage a good competitive day's racing between the flags at Tabley this Sunday, April 6th, and they have attracted a bumper entry of 162.
This fixture comes the day after the three day John Smiths Grand National meeting at Aintree and many racegoers regard the Cheshire Forest meeting at Tabley as the fourth day of a festival of racing in the North West.
Racing comes under starter's orders at 2.00pm and is set to conclude at 5.40pm.
Admission to this popular Cheshire course is £25 per car, regardless of the number of passengers, and for single occupancy the charge will be £15.
There will be a parade of the Cheshire Forest Hounds at around 3.00pm. This event is very popular with the younger generation who love to go into the parade ring and mingle with the hounds.
One of the feature races on the card is the Volkswagen Touareg Men's Open. The first two horses past the judge are eligible for the £10,000 Volkswagen Touareg Men's Point-to-Point Championship Hunter Chase Final at Towcester on Monday, May 12th.
Among the 31 entries are Adams Wine, a recent winner at the Wynnstay meeting at Bangor-on-Dee, Darnil, the champion horse in the North Western area in 2005 and 2006, whilst others for the short list include Reflected Glory, Houghton Bay, Tinarana Lord and Would Wouldn't. A cracking race is in prospect.
