A seven-race card has attracted 116 Entries. It will begin at 11.30am and run through until 3.00pm. Admission will be charged at £10 per head with under 17s getting in for free.

The most intriguing potential runner is the top class National Hunt horse, Cork All Star, whose career record includes victory in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in 2007 and two second places in Grade 1 hurdles.

Not seen on a racecourse since late 2008, the son of Fasliyev is now trained in Newmarket by Jo Quinlan and is set to be ridden by her highly talented teenage son, Jack. He holds Entries in both the opening Hunt Club Members Race and the Mens Open.

Connections may aim him at the Members as his 23 possible opponents include Start Royal, who took his Cottenham record to a perfect four wins from four starts with a facile triumph three weeks ago, alongside the injury-prone Massimo, who looked a stunning prospect when he won the Connolly's Red Mills Intermediate Championship Hunter Chase Final at Cheltenham in 2008.

The Ladies Open could turn into a re-match of the equivalent event here on December 12th as the first four home are all among the 21 Entries. Kicks For Free made a brilliant Pointing debut to score by an easy 10 lengths that day and Big Moment and Inaro, who fought it out for second place, will have their work cut out if they are to turn the tables.

The most likely winner on the card is Aim For The Stars, who was heavily gambled upon at that recent Cottenham fixture but had to settle for second behind the useful Stress, who clocked the fastest time of the day. Aim For The Stars should go one better here and could run in either the 23-Entry 3m Maiden or the 13-Entry 2m4f Maiden.

Cottenham is four miles north of Cambridge near the B1049, post code CB24 8RG. It is best approached using junction 33 of the A14.

Take the A10 signed for Ely, then take the third left (after the Park and Ride and the Recycling Centre) to Landbeach. Go straight through the village of Landbeach, past the playing field, then take the first left out the other side. The course is half a mile further down this road.
