RINGA BAY: looking for a hat-trick of wins

Tweseldown's first Point-to-Point meeting of the season has attracted an entry of 143 for seven races, so competitive racing seems to be guaranteed.
Local champion, Philip York, with seven winners already this season, has four rides - the best of which is Freddies Return in the Mens Open.
"Freddies Return is unbeaten this season and won nicely at Detling last weekend," said Philip, who also trains the horse. "He is so well I will probably run him again, although the competition looks more serious this time!"
Nick Pearce has entered Simon Tindall's Letterman, twice beaten by Freddies Return this season, seeking compensation for a fall at Godstone when he felt his horse was going better than last Sunday's Kent Grand National winner.
Philip Hall rides Delgany Gale in the Club race and Miltara in the Maiden, both for the Grissell sisters, who also run Sam Whiskey in the Ladies and Mr Tee Pee in the Open (Matt Braxton). Nick Pearce rides Chosen Few for Caroline Holliday in the Maiden and will choose between Scholar George and Florence Mary in the Restricted. Reigning champion Pete Bull has the pick of Master T and Honourable Spider in the Mens Open and ground will be the deciding factor; he also partners Sum Say So in the Maiden.
George Gorman's Point-to-Point debut was delayed at Detling as his intended mount, The Tailor Carey, had a bruised foot. The pairing are entered for the Conditions race, while father Marcus Gorman is expected to reappear on Sunday's Detling winner Forgotten Symphony in the Intermediate.
Ringa Bay is York's first mount in the opening Connollys Red Mills Intermediate, while the Rider is particularly keen on Joinedupwriting in the Club Members race.
"The race conditions are perfect as Joinedupwriting is a Maiden over obstacles but has won three flat races - I will be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race," said the Trainer/Rider.
If York does not run his own Coker in the Maiden he will partner one of local Trainer Victoria Collins' three Entries.
This meeting sees the opening of the Hampshire Trainers' Championship, now sponsored by Black Swan Tyres & Exhaust of Wrecclesham. The winner's prize is £750 with the runner-up taking £250. The incentive was successful in encouraging more runners at both Tweseldown and Hackwood Park last year.
First race is at 12.00 noon. Admission is £10 per person with car parking and children under 16 free.
The racecourse is half a mile south of Fleet on the B3013, postcode: GU52 8DY.
