17 March 2009 Preview: Easton Harriers - High Easter

Dual Ampton winner Go North heads a 118-strong entry for the Easton Harriers meeting at High Easter on Sunday.

Six races are carded, beginning at 1p.m. with a six-entry Hunts Club Members Race. But a seventh may be added on the day as the 1.30pm event, the Open Maiden, has 32 entries and a maximum field size of 15, so may need to be divided on the day.

Go North will be stepping up to Open company for the first time should he take up his engagement in the 19-entry Mens Open. His stiffest opposition could come from Deckie, who delighted connections when third at Marks Tey on his return from a long absence last time out.

The 21-entry Ladies Open looks less competitive and may allow Louise Allan to open her account for the campaign on either Assassino or Full Irish, while the enigmatic Lucky Mojo, who came from miles back to take second at Ampton a fourtnight ago, ought to be up to taking the 19-entry Restricted Race provided he is on his best behaviour.

The action concludes with a Dodson & Horrell Novice Riders event where Tribal Venture stands out among the 21 entries.

The course is just south of the village of High Easter, eight miles north west of Chelmsford. From M11 Junction 8 take A120 east towards Colchester for roughly eight miles until the Dunmow South exit. Take A130 (direction Chelmsford). As you arrive in Barnston turn right at a mini roundabout signposted 'The Easters'. Follow this road all the way to High Easter where you turn right at a T junction. Stay on this road through the village and the course is about half a mile out the other side.

Admission will be charged at £10 per head with under 17s admitted free.
