18 September 2009 South East stalwart Sheriff's retires

Sheriff's Friend, one of the South East area's most outstanding Pointers in recent seasons, has been retired, a decision which was taken after his lacklustre run at Penshurst at the end of April. READ MORE

04 September 2009 Popular mare Hartburn dies

The popular Northern-based mare Hartburn, who it was hoped would be retired to stud after fracturing a cannon bone at Hexham in June (as reported here recently), has sadly had to be put down. The complications which developed in the last few days meant that it was impossible to save her. READ MORE

26 August 2009 Watership Down retired

Watership Down, one of the most successful horses qualified in the Sandhurst Area in recent years, has been retired. The winner of a Hunter Chase at Folkestone and five Point-to-Points was always ridden by his owner, 25-year-old Clare Wills. READ MORE

30 April 2009 Where Are They Now? Fiona Wilson

Fiona Wilson, now Mrs Williams-Jones, was Welsh Ladies' champion in 2004 and 2005. She finished third in the 2005 National Championship, just three behind Polly Gundry, having had less than half the number of rides. READ MORE
