12 March 2008 Fitzwilliam (Milton) - Cottenham
Emily Jarvis: Bell Rock's rider
Bell Rock may go for a repeat Ladies' Open win at a Fitzwilliam (Milton) Point-to-Point that has attracted 100 entries for its seven races at Cottenham on Saturday.
The fixture gets under way at noon with a five-entry Hunt Race and runs through until 3.40pm when the two and a half mile youngsters Maiden comes under orders. The steeplechasing will be followed by two children's pony races over a flat course of roughly half a mile. These will start at 3.55pm amd 4.10pm.
Bell Rock hails from the in-form Alan Hill yard and will be much more comfortable on this right-handed course than he was going the other way around when beaten by Beet de Bob at Higham earlier this month.
The Men's Open has 16 engaged and could go to Moscow Court although pointing debutante Viciana would be a danger if running up to her best form under rules.
Cottenham is four miles north of Cambridge. From the west use the B1049 (Histon) junction off the A14. From the east, use the A10 (Impington) junction off the A14 and then take the second left turn, through the village of Landbeach.
Admission will be charged at £12 per head, including a racecard each, with students and OAPs at £10 and children free.
