by Weatherbys Chase Staff

Evergreen Point-to-Point Rider Godfrey Maundrell has been nominated for Channel 4 Racing's "People's Jump Season Award", but in order to win he needs YOUR vote.

"The People's Jump Season Award" in conjunction with Channel 4 was launched on Thursday 15th April offering racing fans the chance to vote for their favourite moment of the 2009/10 season.

Five top moments have been chosen by Channel 4 presenters, Nick Luck and John Francome, and fans can select their favourite simply by logging on to the Sandown Park Racecourse website.

The award will be presented to the inaugural winner prior to racing on bet365 Gold Cup Day. Voters will automatically be entered into a draw to win a VIP prize to present the award alongside a member of the Channel 4 Racing team and receive full hospitality at this top raceday.

The 5 finalists are:
1. Denman winning the Hennessy Gold Cup Chase on Saturday 28th November 2009 at Newbury Racecourse
2. Dream Alliance winning the Coral Welsh National on Monday 28th December 2009 at Chepstow Racecourse. Owned by a syndicate of 22 Welsh owners, the horse was injured and didn't race for 20 months and came back to win the Coral Welsh National!
3. Godfrey Maundrell, 61 yr old owner, trainer and jockey, who won the ladbrokes.com Dick Saunders Novices' Hunters' Chase on Lisadell King at Leicester on Wednesday 17th February 2010, going on to win two further Hunter Chases on the same horse.
