Quite a large crowd attended this popular Point-to-Point meeting and enjoyed some exciting racing when the Harborough Hunt Club held their annual meeting at Dingley, near Market Harborough.

A total of seven horses were declared and the race was won by the in form Belvoir nine-year-old Aztec Warrior, who was winning for the fifth time this season. Race two, the Restricted, attracted six runners and was sponsored by Paragon Automotive and www.wewantyourwheels.co uk of Thurleigh, Beds. Warwickshire horse Dan Maguire was the early leader and jumped well, however Dickie Barrett, riding the Pytchley mare Miss Bobsleigh, moved in front four fences from home and won comfortably by 25 lengths from Sandy Lie, with Dan Maguire a close up third.

Five horses lined up for the Champagne Taittinger Ladies Open Race and this was won by the hot favourite Narciso, who had won his last three races in good style. Jackie Coward took up the running at the halfway mark and won with ease; Virginia Preuil and Inishturk took the minor placings.

Next was the Mens Open Race, sponsored by Lycetts, the Bloodstock & Property Insurance Brokers and Financial Advisors. Waynesworld was installed as the hot favourite but the 11-year-old Azzemour, with Tom Ellis up, made the early running. However Nick Pearce, who had travelled up from Sussex, took the favourite into the lead on the second circuit and won with plenty in hand.

Holy Joe from the Middleton Hunt was smartly away and made the early running. clear three fences from home and easily held off Boscall Hill and the third placed Kiss The Girls, winning the race by a distance.
