Sonevafushi: the principal danger in the Men's Open
The Holcombe Hunt has attracted a bumper entry of 163 for their meeting at Whittington, Nr Kirkby Lonsdale this Saturday (April 19th).
Racing comes under starter's orders at 2.00pm with the Intermediate contest and is set to conclude at 5.30pm with the PPORA Club Members race, this race commemorates the late Angela Beardsworth, who was the entries secretary for the Holcombe Hunt for many years.
Admission to this popular Cumbrian course is only £25 per car, regardless of the number of passengers, single occupancy will be charged at £15.
Heading the field of 22 entries in the Men's Open race is the Julie Kinsey trained Adams Wine. The progressive Hubbly Bubbly gelding has won three races this season, the latest coming at the Flint & Denbigh meeting at Bangor-on-Dee last Sunday where he won readily by 25 lengths from Lord Bush. The principal danger could well be the Cherry Coward trained Sonevafushi, who finished fourth in the Aintree Foxhunters' last time out and is dual-winner between the flags this season.
