Louise Allan's Newmarket success, surprisingly her first ride at the track, on Haljaferia on Sunday was the 50th of her career.
The winner is trained by David Elsworth, for whom Louise works and rides out in the morning before doing her own horses. She is based at Longholes Stud, just outside Newmarket, where she trains her Pointers and also has breakers.
Louise has enjoyed a fine Point-to-Point season and is lying equal fifth in the women's championship with eight victories to her name, all gained in the famous navy and white colours of Joe Turner. She opened her account on her first ride, Goldhill Vulgan in 1992, and her tally includes two over hurdles and three on the flat.
