11 February 2008 Mid Surrey Farmers Draghounds - Godstone

Bee An Bee: under, the oldest licensed jockey in Britain, David Robinson

Already the oldest licensed jockey in Britain, David Robinson rode further into the history books with a win at the Mid Surrey Farmers Point-to-Point meeting at Godstone on Sunday.

A large crowd at the Surrey venue cheered him home on the favourite, Bee An Bee, as the pair led the whole distance to win by six lengths.

David, a beef farmer from Rodmell, near Lewes, owns and trains the horse himself and the win took his lifetime tally to 43.

The meeting began with two pony races, both won by riders 51 years younger than grandfather David, who announced after his popular victory that he and his horse planned to be back in business at Charing on February 24th.
