Cork All Star is set to play a starring role at the North Norfolk Harriers Point-To-Point at Higham on Sunday January 30th.

Formerly a top-class performer under Rules, the recent Cottenham winner is part of a 129-strong Entry for a card that has been extended to seven races by the division of the opening Maiden, which gets under way at noon.

Cork All Star has 20 possible opponents in the Mens Open, including Start Royal, who lost his unbeaten record between the flags when beaten into second earlier this month, as well as Needs Time, a highly promising gelding who has already won at this venue but has not raced for almost two years.

The Ladies Open looks a very strong event and features Big Moment and Beet De Bob, first and third in the corresponding contest 12 months ago, among its 20 Entries. Also engaged are previous course and distance winners Scotland Yard and Blue Hills, while Cool Roxy, a 11-timer scorer at Fakenham, is set to make his Pointing debut at the grand old age of 14. The potential runner to really catch the eye here is Description, who made every yard of the running to land a hot Ladies Race at Larkhill three weeks ago.

Course specialist Pouilly, who split Big Moment and Beet De Bob here in January 2010, may pass up his Entry in the Mens Open in order to contest the Dodson & Horrell Novice Riders race, where 13 are engaged. They include Killard Point, a five-time winning Pointer who is returning to the amateur game having notched the same number of victories in National Hunt races.

The action draws to a close at 3.00pm with an intriguing 23-Entry Restricted Race. Recent winners Vote For Doodle and Blue Dark are bound to have their supporters here, but the one to send punters home happy could be Stress, who clocked a fast time when scoring at Cottenham on December 12th.

Higham is just to the west of the A12 between Colchester and Ipswich using the B1068 turn-off towards Stoke-by-Nayland, post code CO7 6LE. Admission will be charged at £10 per head with under 17s free.
