115 Horses entered for this weeks meeting, a few down on last week but still very good for this time of the season. Last year at this time the temperatures were in the 20's C, bit different this year but at least the ground is more preferable. The forecast suggests that it won't be as cold as Easter Saturday but it will still be a bit chilly so suggest warm clothing. No Men's Open Race at this meeting, can't remember the last time this happened in East Anglia but at this stage of the season it's a pretty good idea as Men's Open races attract very few entries. Many horses are entered at more than one meeting with a meeting at Parham and another not that far away at Kingston Blount. READ MORE

The Welsh Point-to-Point Grand National, over three and a half miles, will be the highlight at Saturday's Pentyrch meeting. However, the 19-strong Members' race should prove an exciting curtain raiser as Keith Pritchard's prolific Cannon Bridge, who also holds a Lady Dudley Cup engagement, will, apparently, be making his seasonal debut in the race and will have most to fear from Mrs Rae Jones's Lough Ennel who has been in excellent form this year and who was successful in last year's race.
