The old racecourse at Buckfastleigh is the venue for Sunday's Point-to-Point and with 150 Entries received, including some of the best Open horses in the Devon & Cornwall Area, racing is expected to be of a high standard.

Two pony races at 11.00am kick off the card before two Confined Maiden races take place at 12.00pm and 12.35pm respectively; there is then a particularly high class Mens Open which comes under starters' orders at 1.10pm.

It's sure to be a race to savour with Entries including the remarkable Gone To Lunch, who won at Black Forest Lodge two weeks ago after nearly losing his life with shipping fever last June. His stable mate Southwestern is also entered; he was another winner at Black Forest Lodge.

Mister Sher, a winner at Wadebridge, could run for Karyn Heard and Whizaar may also run. The latter finished second in a decent Hunter Chase at Wincanton earlier this month.

The Intermediate race is one of a series of 10 sponsored by Exeter Racecourse with the final on May 3rd. 19 are entered including Cherrybrook Restricted winner Busy Buzzard, who could make his seasonal debut. Lord Brunello and Princess de Rome are both interesting with improvement likely to come while Lucette Annie was a game winner at Black Forest Lodge recently. Exeter's own horse High Spirit is also running.

AGA is the sponsor of the Ladies Open and a great race is in prospect with some of the region's best horses entered. They include Wee Fly, Walter de Wodeland and Theatre Diva, with the latter finishing second on her seasonal debut at Larkhill in January.

Other races on the card include a mares Maiden race and a Restricted with the 33 Entries, including recent Black Forest Lodge winner Call Me Sir and Alysia's Flame who won at the same venue.

The venue is hugely popular with racegoers and with ample tradestands, catering, bookies and a licensed bar; an enjoyable day out is guaranteed. Entrance is £20 per car and occupants, £10 per car and single occupant and £7 for those who arrive on foot.
