17 February 2010 Preview: Tanatside - Eyton-on-Severn

The Tanatside Hunt open the new 2010 Point-to-Point season in the North Western area this Sunday, February 21st, at Eyton-on-Severn. The fixture has attracted a good entry of 157, and because of the high number of entries both Maiden races have been divided, making a total of nine races on the day.
Racing comes under starters orders at 12noon, the last race will be at 4.40pm
Admission to this popular Shropshire course, which has been racing since 1923 is only £20 per car regardless of the number of passengers, single occupancy will be charged at £10.
The first three riders past the judge in the Dodson & Horrell PPORA Club Members race for Novice Riders will score points for the Harley Racing Novice Riders' championship. The first three horses and riders past the post will also be eligible for the £1,000 Dodson & Horrell PPORA Club Members Race For Novice Riders Series Final, which will be held at Tabley on Sunday May 16th 2010.
The Mens Open, for the Elizabeth Dedman Memorial Challenge Trophy, has attracted some top quality entries. Amongst those entered are the triple Bangor Final winner Border Fusion from the Gary Hanmer yard. Also declared is the Sian McCain trained Vicario, who was very impressive when beating the well backed Unowatimeen at Bangor on Dee last Friday. Others to note include Beautiful Dawn, Belligerent, Heavy Weather, Maurice, Shady Anne, Tommy Two Toes and Von Origny; a good race is in prospect .
