Chesnut Annie: looks set to land the Ladies' Open
There are more than 150 entries for the Tivyside at Cilwendeg and Little Ed can land a four-timer by beating Dancing Credit in the Confined race for which there are 15 entries.
There are ten down to run in the Members' race, and the one to watch here is the pint-sized Like The Buzz who could come home at a decent price.
Of the 22 entered for the Ladies' Open race, Chesnut Annie, Goblet of Fire, Lunar Crystal, Wages, and recent Carmarthenshire winner Miss Sallyfield, look the pick. However, preference is for the first named who was very impressive when winning the Ladies' Open at Howick recently.
Blazing Ember, who beat Cnocan Aoibhinn by half-a-length when winning the restricted at the Vale of Clettwr, should be another winner for reigning champion James Tudor in the Intermediate, while the lightly raced Hume Theatre, who won on his only two starts last season, can take the Men's Open.
There are 18 entries for the Restricted and Paktol des Brosses and Bill Jones could fight out the finish.
The Maiden race will be run in three divisions and in the first of them Jason Parfitt's five-year-old Find It Out, who ran well when runner-up to Mr Roche T at the recent Curre & Llangibby meeting, will be many racegoers idea of the winner. A possible danger could be Thenford Lad.
In the second division Well Mick will be backed to go one better this time and will probably start favourite. But if there is any money for Sams Lad, owned by Cardiff bookmaker John Lovell, then the tip should be taken.
Billy Lane, owned and trained by former Welsh champion rider Ross Farr, and Crystal Soldier are not without chances in division three.
