05 May 2010 Preview: Tredegar Farmers - Lower Machen

by Brian Lee

Beth Roberts's prolific Chesnut Annie is expected to line up for the Ladies Open race at the popular Lower Machen track on Saturday.

There are 20 Entries for this race and these include Annie's old rival Grey Kid, Roznic, a winner of his last two starts, and recent winners Ha Ho Magregor and Winning Council.

Of the 26 Entries for the Mens Open race, Overlet, the likely winner on form, is a doubtful starter as he sustained an injury to his off hind leg when scoring at the Bank Holiday Monday Banwen Miners' meeting.

In his absence, David Evans's Makena, who made it three wins in a row when easily landing the Mixed Open at the Llangeinor, should account for Micks Prospect, Silver Story and Classic Chance.

Luke Price's Davids Day is not without a chance in the 32-strong Restricted race. Others to note are Dunraven Bowl fourth Parthian Prince, Hocinail and Lutteur Bleu. In the young horse Maiden What An Occasion, Cranemore and Little Thorp look the best of the 18 Entries.

Of the 31 down to face the starter in the Open Maiden Coolcomin, Leprechan's Gold and Little Miss Monty are three to note.

First race 2pm. Bars, Bookmakers and Entertainments.
