18 March 2008 Vine & Craven - Hackwood Park

Local trainer Victoria Collins will have fancied runners in four of the six races at the Vine & Craven Point-to-Point at Hackwood Park, Basingstoke, on Bank Holiday Monday.

Rilly Goschen, on a high after riding her 100th winner last week, partners Victor Victorious in the Restricted race and Choral Dream in the Confined. "Victor Victorious was the one hundredth winner for Rilly when taking the Maiden at Garthorpe last week", said the Alresford trainer, "by contrast that was his first win and I'm hoping he will follow up on Monday!"

Choral Dream will be opposed by stable companion Gielgud, mount of Jockey Club Communications Director, John Maxse, while Owenabue Valley contests the Countryside Alliance Novice Riders Race under owner Tony Vadasz.

Hackwood Park racecourse is in perfect condition for the first of its three meetings and, with 95 entries, competitive racing is assured.

There will also be two Pony Races preceding the Point-to-Point races at 1.00pm and 1.30 pm.

Car parking is at £20 and £30 regardless of the number of occupants (£10 reduction for single occupants), with just a few finishing straight pre-bookable slots available at £40. First race is at 2.00pm and access is less than a mile south of exit 6 of the M3 motorway.
