Pete Mansell previews the weekend's Wheatland meeting at Chaddesley Corbett.

Last weekend's Badminton Horse Trials is one of the busiest times of the year for Rushock (Droitwich) businesswoman Theresa Morris who combines running her on-line company Treehouse Sporting Colours with attendances at all the major summer shows.

She also trains several Point-to-Pointers but was unfortunate to lose Namur, who opened his account at the Atherstone recently but succumbed to colic on his return home.

Connections will be hoping that Iochtaran can help the stable get over this misfortune by putting up a good performance in the Restricted at Chaddesley Corbett on Sunday afternoon.

He finished third in a similar contest at Eyton recently and also has a course win to his credit although that was some time ago.

Present D'Aze and Ruperts Vision have both won Maidens and are progressive types who should be able to make their mark in this type of contest before too long.

A total of 159 Entries have been received for this meeting but the first race is confined to horses from the North West and West Midlands.

Murphys Fusilier must go close in this contest for Kidderminster Trainer Helen Needham; although the horse struggled when upped in class on his last run, some of the opposition in this race is only likely to put up token resistance.

My Pal Val ran well at the last meeting and that was only the second race for his Rider Hannah Chisman and they may be able to go one better on this occasion.

Mrs Needham was the driving force behind the West Midland Preview Night in the autumn and she is hoping to get everything in place to be able to present a cheque to the Air Ambulance during the afternoon.

Cedrus Libani blotted his copybook when he got beaten at Woodford two weeks ago but he had been under a cloud prior to that and had given connections every indication that he had got over those problems.

He looks to have a relatively easy task in the Mens Open and could be yet another winner for the Rucker stable at Droitwich.

The Members race is run at the end of this meeting and should fall to Bridgnorth trainer Belinda Clarke with either Belligerent or The Howardian, although the former did suffered a surprise defeat at Eyton last weekend.
