A host of British Point to Point graduates aim to take centre stage this weekend. These talented horses, having honed their skills between the flags have all gone on to win multiple races under rules at various levels.

Amongst the notable entries are:

  • Country Mile: This promising youngster finished second in his point to point at Chaddesley Corbett for Francesca Poste and is currently unbeaten under rules for Dan Skelton. He holds entries at both Ascot and Haydock.
  • Lavida Adiva: A consistent performer on the track since winning his point to point at Kingston Blount for Max Comley. Now trained by Ruth Jefferson, he could be off a nice mark at 115 in the Handicap Hurdle at Haydock.
  • Deafening Silence: He’s two from three on the track since graduating the point to point field where he beat Cheltenham Foxhunter winner Sine Nomine in a point to point at Alnwick. Trained by Tom Ellis back then, he is now with Dan Skelton but hasn’t been since his Grade 2 Novice Hurdle win at Sandown in December 2023. He could make his Chasing debut this weekend at Haydock or Uttoxeter.
  • Doyen Quest: Unlucky not to win a point to point at Maisemore on his only start due to a saddle slip when in command. Sold by Tom Weston to Dan Skelton, he has gone on to win five on the track so far including last weekend at Cheltenham. May take the 5lb penalty to back up in the Stayer’s Handicap Hurdle at Haydock.
  • Twig: An lovely older horse who reverted back to Pointing after a couple of NH flat runs for Ben Pauling, after winning five between the flags for Matthew Hampton he returned to Pauling to continue his racing career under rules. Now rated 146 over fences and 143 over hurdles, he holds an entry in the Stayers’ Handicap Hurdle at Haydock.
  • Ahoy Senor: One of British Pointings pin up graduates, who won his point to point by 30l on his second start at Kimble for Mel Rowley. He’s gone on to win six under rules including two Grade 1s for Lucinda Russell. He’s set to run in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock.
  • Kinondo Kwetu: After winning his two starts between the flags for Francesca Poste, he has gone on to win nine under rules for Sam England. With a current official rating of 141 down from a career best of 145, he could be well placed in the Handicap Chase at Haydock.
  • Take Your Time: After winning his maiden at Alnwick back in 2019 for Anthony Ross, he’s gone on to win six under rules for Paul Nicholls and the Owners Group. Last seen winning at Ffos Las at the end of last season, could make a season reappearance in a Handicap Chase at Haydock on Saturday.

Racing fans are eagerly anticipating the performances of these British Point to Point graduates, as they look to continue their upward trajectories and make their mark on the National Hunt stage.
