Dancing and Dalkingstown in action today

  • Posted: Tuesday, 30th July 2019

Two winning pointers from last season will be running under Rules today.

Ten-year-old Buck Dancing moved from the stable of champion novice rider Jess Bedi to join Rebecca Menzies in June, and made a winning debut for his new trainer when scoring over hurdles. Today he tackles a £16,000 handicap chase (7.25) at Perth under jockey Aidan Coleman.

Buck Dancing made smooth progress on the pointing circuit last season, winning four point-to-points under Bedi and making a crucial contribution to her Fuller's novice women's championship. He then finished second to Earth Leader in the 'restricted' hunters' chase at Stratford.

Also in action today is Dalkingstown, who heads to Worcester and a debut for Peter Bowen's stable, having been bought for £25,000 at Doncaster's Goffs UK Spring Sale by the trainer's son, Mickey.

Dalkingstown won twice last season under Alex Edwards for Phil Rowley's Shropshire stable. Today he runs in a bumper (6.40) under Mickey's younger brother Sean.
