Sebastopol one for ex-UK pointers

Former British pointer Sebastopol features on a busy card at Huntingdon today.

The five-year-old is ridden by jockey Brian Hughes for the first time when he lines up in a two-mile handicap hurdle (1.40), in which he has to defy a 10lb rise for winning at Wincanton recently.

Trained by Tom Lacey for Clive Boultbee-Brooks, Sebastopol burst onto the scene in January last year when running out an impressive winner of a maiden race at Larkhill in Wiltshire (pictured above, nearest camera, under Tommie O'Brien).

He was soon switched into Lacey's licensed yard and won an Ayr bumper followed by two places in hurdles, before opening the current season with the Wincanton victory.
