***** FIXTURE CANCELLED ***** After inspecting today (Thursday 10th April), the Committee has made the decision to call off the meeting on Easter Saturday.<br /> The going is currently Hard. Without the ability to water and with limited rain forecast this is unlikely to improve. This early decision will give participants time to make alternative plans for the Easter weekend.

The going remains Firm, Good to Firm in places, with a good covering of grass. Watering will continue, to improve the going, and we are aiming for Good to Firm on the day. The team are working incredibly hard to produce safe racing ground and we will agrivate if necessary. Going update Sunday evening - the course is level with a good covering of grass and has been topped. We will be spiking the course over weekend ahead of watering start of next week, which will continue until race day (ie 1 week of watering), to provide genuinely good / safe racing ground. We are watering with an umbilical cord, which enables a HUGE amount of water to be put on track, to guarantee a safe racing surface. Video on Eyton Races and West Mercian Facebook pages.

As of 16 Apr 25: The Clerk of the Course states that the going is currently good to firm. Watering has been going on and the rain the course received has helped. The watering will continue whilst monitoring the weather forecast but the aim is to give as near good all the way around the course by race day. Any further changes will be given as necessary.
