Will Biddick reached 600 wins in British point-to-points at Larkhill today, but after the next race was returned to the changing room by ambulance.
The eight-time men's champion brought up the 600 on the Matt and Fliss Hampton-trained Five Bar Gate [pictured above], but unseated in the four- and five-year-old maiden race and remained on the floor as ambulances pulled alongside. He was able to walk from the ambulance unaided, but with his arm in a sling. He said later: “I thought the arm was broken, but the nurse thinks it’s bruised. It’s sore.”
He gave up his remaining rides.
