Herefordshire point-to-point trainer Clive Boultbee-Brooks takes on three licensed trainers in this afternoon's hunters' chase at Lingfield.

Boultbree-Brooks (pictured above) saddles Geordie B, the mount of Tommie O'Brien, in the four-runner At The Races App Market Movers Open Hunters' Chase (4.30) against horses from the stables of Tom Lacey (Kimberlite Candy), Colin Tizzard (West Approach) and Philip Hobbs (Dolphin Square). Geordie B was third, but well beaten on his sole start this season at Horseheath, but his trainer is expecting a better run today.

While travelling to Lingfield, Boultbee-Brooks said: "[At Horseheath] Tommie had the saddle checked at the start, and they didn't put the [surcingle] pin in. The saddle slipped at the top of the hill with a circuit to go and he was struggling with his jumping from there. With two fences to go the saddle was on one side of the horse, so he did well to come third. He can definitely improve on that.

"We’re up against some terrific trainers and some very good horses, but Geordie B needs to run. We wouldn't have chosen this ground, but he's the type of horse you have to run when he's ready to run, so we are taking our chance."
