We are delighted to announce provisional dates for the second phase of the Schooling Trials Pilot Scheme, which is co-ordinated by the Horse Welfare Board programme team, and generously supported by the Racing Foundation. Schooling Trials allow a further opportunity to prepare horses for the racecourse, at all stages of their career, and are primarily aimed at NH horses. The days will again take place on both Point to Point and Licensed Racecourses.

There will be further announcements in due course, as well as outlining days at the start of 2026, but we are happy to confirm the below as intended venues/dates prior to Christmas. Booking details and further instructions will follow.

Provisional dates ahead of Christmas 2025:

Thursday 9th October: Ffos Las Racecourse

Thursday 23rd October: Worcester Racecourse (potential to extend to 24th October if sufficient demand)

Tuesday 4th November: Larkhill P2P Racecourse

Monday 10th November: Maisemore P2P Racecourse

Tuesday 18th November: Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse

Of course, the weather will play a huge role in how the planned fixtures progress, and we appreciate your patience as we try our hardest to provide as many schooling opportunities as possible.

Please note, we are actively trying to provide more opportunities for schooling trials pilot days in the north and will keep all potential participants informed as and when new venues are confirmed.

If you require any further information, please email: [email protected] or call Pip Kirkby (Project Lead, Horse Welfare Board) on 07796 996081 or Ben Atkins (Schooling Trials Operations Manager) on 07851 266808 with any enquiries about the Schooling Trials pilot.
