RACING TO SCHOOL: PONY CLUB RACE DAYS

Racing to School is running four events during the October half term to give Pony Club members behind the scenes access to the races, information on how to get into racing and the chance to try out equicisers and virtual reality headsets. The day is free for Pony Club members (and their parents) and is an ideal way for them to find out how to combine their love of ponies with their future riding careers.

The four Race Days take place at Windsor (23rd October), Doncaster (27th October), Bangor-on-Dee (31st October) and Stratford (2nd November). Pony Club members and their parents will be able to gain entry to the racecourse before gates are open to the public, and take part in fun and informative activities behind the scenes.

For potential young jockeys, the teams at the racecourse will be able to advise on, and provide details of, the pathways into the wide range of careers the Horseracing and Thoroughbred Breeding Industries have to offer.

Hollie Doyle, former Pony Racer and now leading Flat Jockey and Racing to School Ambassador, tells us: “The Pony Club provided the perfect stepping stone to a career in racing for me and I loved being a member! These taster sessions are a brilliant opportunity for young people to try something new and get a feel for the opportunities available.”

To sign-up to one of the Pony Club Race Days, just follow this link – pre-booking is required and places are limited to 20 per day, with priority to senior Pony Club members. All members must be accompanied by an adult.
