Jockey's title chasing Josh Newman and his closest pursuer in the race to be crowned champion rider, James King, were both in the winner's circle at Bitterley on Saturday.
Newman scored aboard Crawter in the Conditions (Level 3) contest while King secured a double following victories for Tzarmix in the Members and Elle Est Beau, who landed the Restricted.
From a betting point of view on the race for the title, leading point to point bookmaker Mark Hill reckons the battle between the duo will go to the wire when the season concludes in around seven weeks time.
He said: "It's certainly going to be an interesting few weeks but Josh has the advantage of being in front by four winners (after the weekend), however James is very tenacious and will give him a run for his money. As things stand I am betting 8-11 Newman and Evens King."
Hill can be contacted on 07831 293363 and will be standing at Shelfield Park this coming Saturday.
Despite veering violently right at a number of fences, Crawter, who was sent off a very warm 4-11 favourite, always held the upper hand over Daranova in the closing stages of the contest and eventually pulled 20 lengths clear of the runner-up.
Joint winning owner Stan Rawlins: "If he comes out of this race in good fettle he could run again this season. The original plan was to come here and then go to the Cheltenham Hunter Chase meeting next month, but after the way he jumped there I am not sure he wants to go left-handed."
The Diana Ralph-trained Tzarmix made the best possible start for new connections when coming clear from the third last fence and passing the post with six lengths in hand over Ecco.
Ralph said: "We bought him at Doncaster Sales for a couple of local owners - Mike Fothergill and Trevor Lloyd - as a fun horse to run in a couple of point to points before going back under Rules in the summer months. So it's so far so good."
Elle Est Beau followed up her bloodless victory at Larkhill when notching her second success in a week with another clear-cut verdict after taking up the running at the 12th fence before seeing off Punch Perfect.
Winning trainer Luke Price commented: "I hope she is the type who can go through the grades but how far she can go, I'm not sure. She seems to take her racing well so we will play it by ear where she might run next."
The closest finish of the afternoon was reserved for the Novice Riders Contest where the Harvey Barfoot-Saunt-partnered For One Night Only had half-a-length to spare over Citizen Jane after the pair had duelled from two out.
Dom Dantonio, representing the winning syndicate, PSC Racing Club, said: "I have to admit the faster ground was a bit of a question mark with him but he has handled it really well. He jumps and gallops for fun and is very consistent on the whole."
Any racegoers noticing that Gina Andrews had just the one entry on the card were rewarded with a 7-2 winner after Lord Cauvelliere made a handsome winning debut in the concluding Flat race under Zak Baker.
Andrews was represented by her husband Tom Ellis and he reported: "A lot of the credit must go to David Phelan as he has sourced a lot of winners for Gina and myself over the years and this is another one
"The plan was always to come down the bumper route with him as he has been well forward in his work at home since he joined the team. He is for sale and may well go to the Cheltenham auction next week."
After taking up the running two fences from home, Is Our Otis, stayed on strongly to land the 5yo And Over Maiden at the expense of Shuile Warrior for the combination of trainer Jo Priest and rider Sam Lee.
Unfortunately, the Mixed Open had to be declared void by the stewards due to lack of runners.
