Seven British point-to-pointers will go under the hammer when Tattersalls Cheltenham stages its final auction of the season tomorrow.
Following two withdrawals 50 horses are set to enter the ring at the company’s April Sale, where trading is set to begin at 5.30pm following the final race on the Cheltenham card. The catalogue contains British and Irish point-to-pointers plus some bumper winners from races under rules.
First up for the home-trained horses is Buddah Castle (Lot 2), a winner for Josh Newman at Trebuddannon late last month, while Lord Cauvelliere (Lot 3) who is one of two entries from Tom Ellis and Gina Andrews’s G&T Racing. A French-bred, four-year-old son of sire Choeur Du Nord, he recently made a winning debut in a point-to-point Flat race at Bitterley.

Another French-bred, five-year-old Karaka De Thaix (Lot 17), is a son of popular sire Cokoriko and being offered by Dale Peters, who rode the horse to victory on debut at Charm Park in early March.
G & T Racing’s second offering is four-year-old Outmaster (Lot 24) who scored at the first time of asking when sent to Edgcote on Sunday. The son of Yorton Stud sire Masterstroke won by 12 lengths in a maiden race over two miles five furlongs.

Dorset-based Hannah Clarke sends five-year-old Catch Me Quick (Lot 43) to the ring after he made a winning debut in Britain at Cothelstone last month (pictured top of the page under Charlie Marshall). An easy winner that day, the son of Casamento had previously run twice and been placed second on one occasion in Irish point-to-points.
Sogna In Grande (Lot 49) represents Joe Drinkwater, who is part of the racing operation run by his brother Sam. A five-year-old son of Dartmouth, Sogna In Grande finished runner-up at Kingston Blount in February then scored at Ston Easton last month, while Elusive Knight (Lot 52), who is the final horse into the ring, won at Dalton Park last month for trainer Tony Ross.
