Yorkshire’s Jack Teal is among a group of British point-to-point trainers offering horses at Tattersalls Cheltenham’s May Sale on Thursday.
Teal, who rode a treble and trained a double at Charm Park on Sunday, sends recent Dingley winner Kdeux Saint Fray (pictured leading above) to Cheltenham, hoping for another good result after he sold Kalypso’Chance for £85,000 at Tattersalls Cheltenham’s April Sale. A four-year-old son of Masked Marvel, Kdeux Saint Fray was bought 12 months ago by Teal for £20,000 at Goffs UK’s Spring Sale.
Warwickshire-based Fran and Charlie Poste have entered two horses for Thursday’s auction. Power Of The Sea (Lot 4), a five-year-old son of Affinisea, broke his duck at Eyton-on-Severn earlier this month, while Glancing Hill (Lot 21) made his pointing debut on the same card and finished second, beaten just three-quarters of a length, in a young-horse maiden.
Tom and Gina Ellis’s Rocket Rufus (Lot 3), a four-year-old son of Jet Away, made his first appearance at Chaddesley Corbett last month and finished third, while Jasmin Hosgood’s Special John (Lot 29) ran well to finish third at Charlton Horethorne in March and then followed up with a stylish win at Larkhill. Special John is a five-year-old son of Soldier Of Fortune.
Completing the field of British pointers is a four-year-old son of Kingston Hill, Kingston Gent (Lot 30), who finished third at Flete Park last month and then returned to that venue two weeks later to win a maiden race for trainer Tim Dennis.
Thursday’s sale starts at 1pm at Cheltenham Racecourse. Entry to the public is free.
